👨💻 About Me
I'm Miguel Ángel, a backend developer passionate about software architecture, system evolution and solving complex problems through clean and maintainable code.
My path into software development was not linear. It was shaped by experiences across hospitality, industrial environments and a growing curiosity about how systems work behind the scenes.
🚶♂️ My Journey
Since I was young I always felt drawn to technical subjects and scientific thinking. However, the academic path I initially chose didn't fully match my interests and I eventually moved into the workforce instead of continuing my studies at that time.
For several years I worked in the hospitality sector, an environment that requires discipline, teamwork and the ability to perform under pressure. These years shaped my work ethic and taught me the value of consistency and responsibility.
Later I transitioned into the industrial sector, working with additive manufacturing systems. This experience would unexpectedly become the turning point that led me into programming.
💡 Discovering Programming
While working with industrial 3D printers I began interacting with G-Code, a command-based language used to control manufacturing machines.
Understanding how sequences of instructions could control complex mechanical behaviour fascinated me. I started experimenting with small automation macros that simplified printing workflows and improved machine operations.
That curiosity quickly evolved into a deeper interest in programming and software systems. After some reflection and personal circumstances that forced me to stop working for a period of time, I decided to take the opportunity to return to education and formally study web development.
💻 Becoming a Developer
I enrolled in the Web Application Development program (DAW) while continuing to work full-time. This period required strong discipline and time management, but it confirmed that software development was the field I wanted to pursue professionally.
Since then I have focused my career on backend development, working on systems involving integrations, APIs and complex business domains in the tourism software industry.
🌿 Outside of Tech
Outside of software development I enjoy activities that help me keep a clear mind and maintain balance.
- ????? Cycling I enjoy long rides that allow me to disconnect and think.
- ?? Music Especially punk rock, which has been part of my life for many years.
- ?? Friends I enjoy spending time with friends, sharing conversations and good moments.
- ?? Countryside I enjoy spending time in nature, walking and disconnecting from the daily routine.
⚙️ How I Approach Technology
My background outside the software industry shaped how I approach technology today. I value systems that are understandable, maintainable and designed to evolve as business complexity grows.
I'm particularly interested in how architectural decisions age over time and how backend systems adapt when real-world constraints start to shape the design.
